About Me

Glenn Johnstone: Co Durham, United Kingdom; Hi I'm Glenn, Things took a rather unexpected turn for me around June 1995, when I was 27 I was diagnosed with a giant cell tumour in my right leg. It was to become 12 years of surgeries, infections and excruciating pain. In 1996, I had a Kotz prosthesis surgically inserted into my leg to replace my diseased bone. The prosthesis remained there until September 2007 when I elected to have an above knee amputation. Shortly after my amputation, I set my mind to re-learning how to ride a bike again. This took quite a bit of determination, hard work and a positive attitude. I was very fortunate to get offered support from a fantastic clinic named Pace Rehabilitation and I have also been lucky enough to find myself in the position of being supported by amazing people like Brian Bartlett, the designer of the Bartlett Tendon. Throughout my journey I have had and continue to receive amazing support and I hope my little blog reflects how much I owe to all those involved. Thank You
